As on many occasions in the past, our guests will have an opportunity to enjoy sparkling rose and white wine during the fair!  [caption id="attachment_6901" align="alignleft" width="461" caption="Enjoy a Lovely Day Out at Cressing Art & Antique & Garden Fair"][/caption]  Public Days from Friday 5th August to Sunday 7th August 10.30am - 5pm Cressing Temple Witham Road, Cressing Braintree, CM77 8PD  2011 sees the return of Penman Art Fair to Essex, after a hiatus of five years.  This year’s Fair is set in the grounds of Cressing Temple, the historically significant site of the estate of the Knights Templar. The only structures remaining from that time are the two enormous barns. The “Wheat Barn”, built around 1206, will house approximately 15 Modern Art stands, contrasting with the existing museum of farming history. The “Barley Barn”, built around 1256, will house approximately 30 Antiques stands.  There are many other points of interest on the Estate, including a selection of farm buildings dating from the 16th to 19th centuries and the magnificent recreation of a Tudor Walled Garden, where medicinal plantings are delightfully mixed with scented flowers and food plants. Between the Barns is a Sculpture Lawn, where antique garden settings will be interspersed with Modern sculpture.  The Visitor centre will offer local and historical information, a gift shop and refreshments. Weather permitting, Cream Teas will also be available beside the Barns.  Directions:   By train - London Liverpool Street to Witham, then 5min taxi to the Cressing Temple.    By car - Cressing Temple is situated on the main road between Braintree and Witham on the B1018, just a few minutes drive away from Freeport Designer Outlet Village.  By bus - public bus service stops within one quarter of a mile. Call the traveline on 0871 200 2233 for public transport information.
