DESCRIPTION:Two-for-one entry on presentation of an Art Fund membership card From as early as its inception in 1999, Art London has had the mission to combine “serious” art with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere: something that is not that common in the art world.  [caption id="attachment_3771" align="alignleft" width="222" caption="Branko Dimitrijevic, City Rush, Oil on canvas"][/caption]  Art London 2010 is thrilled to be able to welcome a new group of participants from the US, Hong Kong and Ireland, in conjunction with returning exhibitors from such distant shores as Argentina and Australia.  In 2010, there will be on display many works by major modern British  and 20th century artists: some of these are Elisabeth Frink, Paul Nash,  John Piper, Edward Seago and Graham Sutherland.  Opening Times 7th – 11th October, 2010 Thursday, Sunday & Monday 11am-8.30pm Friday, Saturday 11am-8pm Royal Hospital, Chelsea London Gate, Royal Hospital Road, SW3 4SR  Art London has always had a cosmopolitan theme, with 2010 continuing this theme. Art from all corners of the globe can be found. This includes both the “themed” shows exhibiting the works of a number of talented artists as well as “solo” exhibitions. Whatever the focus, visitors to Art London can be assured that they will not be subjected to an overload of the senses, which is typical of other events.  One feature of Art London which contributes to its unique character is the educational Special Exhibition. This year, the leaders of the council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea have graciously loaned exhibits from the Leighton House museum.  As well as this Special Exhibition, dedicated to Frederic, Lord Leighton, Art London will also feature an outdoor Sculpture Garden which has, as a rustic rural backdrop, the grounds of the Royal Hospital. The Sculpture Garden will showcase works from a small select group of sculptors: namely, Marzia Colonna, Bruce Denny, Philip Jackson, Gill Parker and Shan Shan Sheng.
