This year, Canterbury Art Fair will open its doors from Wednesday 21st October through to Saturday 7th November, in the exhibition space in Canterbury city centre. A private viewing will take place on Friday 23rd October from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
The previous three years of Canterbury Art Fair have showcased arts and crafts, both unique and of exceptional quality, to residents and visitors of Canterbury alike. Both emerging artists and more established professional artists from the local area and abroad have delighted people with a plethora of works.
This year, Canterbury’s empty shops will be used as Canterbury Art Fair premises . This will create quite an exhilarating atmosphere, whilst also bringing the exhibition closer to the people. As it is occurring at the very beginning of the new academic year and during the Canterbury Festival, artists will be assured of maximum exposure to an ever increasingly diverse audience. As well, the local community will benefit through the sale of original artwork.
Examples of the type of artwork and crafts available will be batik, ceramics, drawing, furniture, glass, jewellery, painting, photography and sculpture, and you will be able to buy all of that directly from artists!
